He hasn’t even proposed to Georgia yet, and Elly’s already got the wedding half-planned? Sheesh!

Give him enough rope and he’ll hang himself.

    Lynn’s Notes:

Again, the use of colloquial expressions made For Better or for Worse hard to export. It needed to be read by people whose first language was English. On the other hand, cartoons are used all the time by people teaching English as a second language, precisely because colloquial speech is the language you hear on the street.

The reference to the botanical gardens and island ferry is very B.C. Canadian. It refers to the famous Butchart Gardens, on Victoria Island – Vancouver, BC. No grand wedding would be complete without picture of the wedding party ( or at least the bride and groom ) in this beautiful setting.Obviously, you have to take the ferry from Vancouver and many receptions have been held ( in part ) there. Many years ago, I attended the wedding of my wife’s nephew and his lovely bride on the island, with the obligatory pictures in Butchart Gardens and the reception at a quaint inn on the island. Summer is truly beautiful in Vancouver.

All of Phil’s comments have been dead on for a true musician . . .

To some women (well, a LOT of women), a wedding is like a quincanera for grown-ups. May as well raise the white flag, Phil…you’ll have nothing to say about how yours goes because it’s never about the groom and your sister has already decided to take over before you even pop the question. Then again, getting married at center ice wasn’t my wife’s idea so what do I know?

If Phil is feeling “roped in”, then he is not ready to be married. Wait until the “need” for the connection is greater than the reluctance.

Ugh – this is not the 1950’s. If Georgia chooses to live with Phil without marrying him, her father has no business forcing the issue.

And if he has to resort to a shotgun for Phil to commit, Georgia is better off without Phil.

Phil should not be getting married. He is not ready.
