Ichabod sure is going to be terrified.

Lio is both commercially enterprising and performing a Public Service (at least, to the Headless Horseman). Such a good boy!

“The cognomen of Crane was not inapplicable to his person.” I re-read “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” every October in the week before Halloween. It draws me into the full mood of Autumn, harvest season, and the sweet chilly thrill of the ghostly holiday… and nicely sets up anticipation for Thanksgiving. For that holiday, I re-read Capote’s “A Thanksgiving Visitor,” and for Christmas, “A Christmas Carol.” In different ways, all three of these are ghost stories, about the “spirits” of the holidays.

Sleepy Hollow is an interesting FOX TV series; been on the air for a couple years now…

I’m in a mood to pick some nits here — once they are carved, they are no longer pumpkins, they are Jack O’Lanterns. Just saying’.
