Does anyone realize that when you say “long story short” that you’ve actually made your story three unnecessary words longer?
Plus there is the fact that everyone who says this piece of inanity are usually the people who clutter their story with unnecessary details: “Adam is in the Garden of Eden and he’s finished naming the cows and iguanas when he decides that he’s hungry and not just hungry for the peaches he’s been eating all along. So long story short, Adam on the way to name the nightingales and the sea cucumbers stops by to see Eve…”
A somewhat enlarged image can be found at Mr. Melcher’s blog entry (yesterday). Again, this is a cropped image (date below lower right signature missing). A less-cropped, click-to-enlarge image can be found here.Feeding New Friends is privately owned. It is shown, with a different coloration image, by an auction result page.Another different coloration, click-to-enlarge image is shown by a later (apparently unsuccessful) auction page.At first I thought (click for click-to-enlarge) was a detail image (no lower right signature); but, it’s a different painting (lock of hair by eye on right). The artist had painted The Morning Meal (signature actually at upper right) a couple years earlier.
