Rose: That was lovely...but I'm surprised to see you! Most of the local birds flew south!
Bird: I was wondering why I was the only one at chirping practice!
We had a red-tailed hawk near our office here that did the reverse part of this. Normally they head north when the weather heats up in Arizona, but this one stuck around through the entire summer. Guess that lamppost he had staked out gave him a good view of some really good squirrel-hunting ground.

The little birdy was busy with the song and got lost in the melody missing the noon whistle notification of the flight south.
