If it has to be explained, I guess it is not funny. He got hit so hard he had quadruple vision, which improved to double vision, & then back to normal single vision. Haven’t you ever seen on TV or in a movie, where someone gets a hard hit in the head, & another person holds up one finger & asks how many fingers they can see? Same idea here.
