When I was a young kid, we explored a lot around the lake cabin. One day after hearing a lot of mooing a few days before, we found the source. A steer had become entangled in a very loosely strung barbwire fence and had succumbed either to starvation or strangulation. We think it was trying to get to the lush grass on the other side of the fence.
