One of Timmy’s lesser traumatic childhood memories (one can well imagine his more horrendous experiences) will be when he realizes that the birdie he commented on that prompted Burl’s largesse was frozen to the porch railing sometime last night, as is plainly to be seen in the second panel. .But Burl is actually onto something with his Halloween idea. The Penny’s usual Halloween treats are out of date Necco wafers, petrified Circus Peanuts, and Dots melted into a solid crystallizing mass from the As-Is Dollar Emporium, and leaving them outside relieves him of both getting up and getting the dirty looks.
…..snow halfway up the deck railings….got the Halloween idea just a tad late, didn’t we, Einstein? Or are we, like. waaaaaay early? Either way, you won’t remember this brainstorm that far into next year….until ’round midnite on Oct. 31 when you sit bolt upright in bed and shout: “NOW I remember what I forgot to remember”!
