Is the first appearance of his Plank Of Wood in Poncho’s life? This Poncho as a puppy story arc is really great. We can play Freudian therapist and examine the various influences that made the adult Poncho the dog he is today. Plus the puppies are really cute.
In the present day,Poncho is traveling all over the world. http://poochcafe.com/?cat=25

This is supposed to be funny? On what planet?
gofinsc over 14 years ago
Straight lines setting up punchlines are not usually funny. Good things come to those who wait.

I have been really enjoying the “Year One” comics. The Nocturna character is brilliant. I can’t wait to see how this one turns out.

gofinsc, I think the punchline comes in the third panel, and it seems funny enough to me. But it’s true that today’s strip serves primarily as character development and foreshadowing of future events, and probably wouldn’t appeal much to an occasional or new visitor to the strip…
gofinsc over 14 years ago
In this strip, yes. But this whole series is a straight line leading to the later life punchline. “A journey of one thousand miles begins with one step.”
