The phrase “24/7” is another thing he didn’t expect.

For the next twenty years, the strip will be about Roy showing things to Marty. We will also have a spin-off series called ‘Steve Allen’s Advice To Marty.’

Hey, Marty! When you go back, there are a few “adjustments” we’d like you to make for us, if you would…

The Back to the Future movies were far from a real attempt at trying to predict what the future would be, just a fun story line. But I do find the whole history of people really trying to predict the future interesting.

What I find interesting about it, is that usually the predictions miss in the fact that most things tend to stay mundane(no one of the past would be that surprised by most of a current house). In other words in people there will be radically differences in things like houses, and hardly anything changes. And an example from the movie could be the auto tying shoe laces. Creating can and was done, but they it is a pointless operation, and as such will never go mainstream. And they miss things that actually are much more advanced then predicted, like mobile devices and the Internet.

For instance the predictions people are making that electric cars will be the norm in say 10 years, when they don’t even take into account how long people tend to own their current car. Or the classic flying car with the belief that it will solve the commute problems. Not only is it really not practical on many levels. It would only help with your commute if one of two things happens. 1) You get the car and the masses don’t get the car. 2) If the masses get it, they are not the ones driving it. The airspace is already crowded, and it is going to get a lot more crowded with the “drones”, and without friction the only thing that would stop it from being a death trap would be if the human is taken out of the picture.

@Thomas Scott Roberts—-John & I thought “TIT” was a natural fit for WD". You guys really have a good sense of humor, & sometimes the comments are as funny as the strip! LOL!
