@ragtime78rpmI raised turkeys like she described with exception I used feed grown conventionally. I had tom turkeys that butchered out in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. You just have to wait till they are a little older before you butcher them to get a big turkey. There was nothing different in the conventional feed from organic other than the chemicals sprayed on it to grow it.
I did some research when my husband was told to stay away from beef because of the hormones. Poultry and pigs are not treated with hormones. According to the FDA, only cattle can be “enhanced” with hormones. Unfortunately, one of the hormones used is testosterone, so someone who is on a hormone suppressant cannot eat commercial beef. Pork, chicken & turkey are okay.

Bet you that Peter will still double-check the turkey to make sure that it’s real and not made out of tofu, which he had done at least once.

Never heard of using pesticides on a turkey before… kinda wrong.
