GRAND AVENUE BY STEVE BREEN & MIKE THOMPSON Gabby: Santa's elves make all the toys, but Santa gets all the credit! Gabby: Why don't we sit on the elves' laps and mail our wish lists to them? Gabby: And why does Santa get all the milk and cookies we leave out? Gabby: So the boss guy hardly does any of the work, but he gets all the credit, while the worker bees get ignored. Gabby: You call that Christmas? Grandma: I call that life.

When my kids were small and still “believers,” I used to get so annoyed that I picked out the perfect presents and I did all that wrapping and then Santa got all the credit.

Sad but true, Grandma … although in this case, I say that Santa deserves credit for dragging his large behind around the whole world in a single night, and remaining kind and jolly throughout the whole ordeal, while the elves are knocking back eggnog with their feet up before a cosy Christmas Eve fire. Credit where it’s due!
