There are unmanned kiosks or machines in grocery stores. ..And I do know one video store, not near me, though, that offers memberships, like a brick and mortar version of Netflix…You pay by the month, to have a chosen number of videos out at any one time.
i have no idea whether you can walk in and rent one movie, though.
Wouldn’t you just love a friend like the Pennys? No social graces, and no understanding of them. They’ll call you on every little white lie. ..so about the only way to say no is to say it straight out, and rudely. Try this, Tom. ..“No. .. she doesn’t like you. "
They’ll be shocked for 20 seconds, and then shrug, and go back to thinking about food.
Well, for one thing, their phenomenal memory has played them wrong. That’s George. He’d answer to anything to avoid having to stop and talk to the Penny’s. And his wife isn’t Betty; it’s Sue. Betty is indeed married to Tom, and even if they had been talking to Tom, he sure wouldn’t have bummed his wife out by mentioning a Penny encounter. .Their faith in their memory of faces and names is high, since no one ever corrects them. Ironically, they will rent I Saw What You Did, because they love the line, “I saw what you did, and I know who you are.” In the morning, they will bring it back and demand a refund on account of it being defective. There was one skip, in the closing credits, down around the third assistant prop wrangler, and they’re not about to pay for a defective product. It’s funny how many videos they rent had bad spots. Some clerks have tried to shun responsibility by pointing out the greasy fingerprints. .Their people memory problem is simply that other people are not them and are therefore of little interest. Their memory for other aspects of their life is fine. They can, for instance, remember the precise refilling order of 25 separate items on the steam table at the Golden Broasted Sirloin Stampede buffet and can time their gorging to be on hand when each is topped off.
