It causes me concern when someone says ‘can I axe you a question?’ or ‘let me axe you a question?’.I don’t know whether they are uneducated, dyslexic, or just plain “south of 45”.Or do they really want to axe me.

Regarding ax: believe it or not, actually correct, as an archaic form of ask according to the OED.
