whitet3260Washington, Federalist; Jefferson, Democratic-Republican; Lincoln, Republican; T Roosevelt, left Republican for Progressive. Authorized by F D Roosevelt, Democrat. A rather wide distribution of parties, so what is your revisionist documentation?

The original plan called for full-body representations. There are even sketches (if not models) of the clothing that would have been represented for each president. Ran out of money.

Borglum had models in his cabin that run to waist. He never planned on more than the heads. I was 4 or 5 when I first saw them. They do bring in money for the park. West of the Mount is the statue of Crazy Horse being carved, that is on land that is part of a reservation and is being financed by donations.
