I read Catcher in the Rye back in the sixties and liked it. Then I tried to read it again a couple of years ago and couldn’t stand that whiny punk Holden Caulfield. They must have changed the book sometime in the last fifty years (couldn’t have been me that changed ;-)

I enjoyed reading it twice as a teen. Not sure what I’d think of it now, but I’m almost guaranteed to prefer it to what Cynthia’s talking about.
