"Thank you for downloading our new smartphone app. TERMS AND CONDITIONS Click to READ Click to ACCEPT READ Wow, okay. You're the first guy who didn't just click ACCEPT. But okay, here goes. Taround TERMS AND CONDITIONS You have no rights. We will violate your privacy. We will track your every movement. We will sell all of this information to anyone who wants it. If we find anything really embarrassing, we will pass it around the office and laugh. All of the above may accidentally be exposed to the entire world. If so, oopsy-doopsies. P.S. You are hosed." Rat: Never read the terms and conditions.

I use an LG GS170; I don’t need a “smartphone,” because I prefer to be the smart one.

This one’s a little too on the money for comfort
PICTO about 9 years ago
There is always the right to disagree.
Alexander the Good Enough about 9 years ago
OMG! That SO nails it! Oh, and I believe that the Devil himself must be Adobe’s primary stock holder.
Sisyphos about 9 years ago
Actually, Rat, it is better to read the Terms and Conditions and know that you are hosed than to embrace blissful ignorance and think you are safe and secure online.Nothing online is ever truly secure. Nothing.
kenray2010 about 9 years ago
you agree to be an organ donor in the event that one of our employees needs something you posess
markzwaan about 9 years ago
That’s a surprisingly good translation of the average terms and conditions you have to agree to with almost every software purchase. It seems the writer knows a thing or two about legislation. If he fails as a cartoon writer I guess he could always try and be a lawyer or something similar.
mjb515 about 9 years ago
Same goes for the IRS, but they don’t give you a choice about accepting.
tom about 9 years ago
Sisy, since “nothing online is ever truly secure,” then there’s no point in reading the Terms and Conditions anyhow.

The number one lie these days is: “I have read and agree to these terms and conditions.”

RAT is RIGHT! Just click “Accept” and be done with it.
A_NY_Outlaw about 9 years ago
I’m surprised Rat is not hungover, he had a late night party over at the rats house in ‘Heatcliff’.
kaffekup about 9 years ago
I assumed panel 13 would just be “Accept”.
toahero about 9 years ago
I try to always read the terms and conditions, but if they’re over 2 pages long, even I don’t bother.
Cameron1988 Premium Member about 9 years ago
who even reads the terms and conditions of anything?
abbybookcase about 9 years ago
more pratchett references. the bit in “good omens” by him and neil gaiman where crowley sends the terms and conditions that come with buying a computer and a note to those ruling below in hell “learn, guys, learn”
Kristiaan about 9 years ago
And still everyone clicks ‘accept’
lattewoman about 9 years ago
I read those things once. Rat is correct.
Number Three about 9 years ago
All I do is click “Accept”
But then I’m pretty sure 99% people do. xxx

“p.s. – you are hosed.”
yep but we don’t care cause we got apps!!
Rob Rex about 9 years ago
I try to always read the terms and conditions along with the privacy statement. It doesn’t take too long once you learn how to skim through them for anything other than “don’t sue us”.
rgcviper about 9 years ago
Finally—some corporate honesty.
This one made me laugh … mainly for the last two lines in the T&C.
sperry532 about 9 years ago
Yep. That’s about the sum total of all EULAs and T&Cs.
Thing is, they rarely hold up in court.
Jayred the Player about 7 years ago
I nearly always click “accept”

Here it is. It’s in the privacy Policy BTW… We understand that the security of your personal information is important. We provide reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security controls to protect your personal information. However, despite our efforts, no security controls are 100% effective and Adobe cannot ensure or warrant the security of your personal information.
