I like that, Nabuqudu…. I will use it, if you don’t mind. Well, I can add dogs too :-)

    It’s a medical miracle!

Well, we can pick on those who prefer to have puppies and cats, but those who have kids can smugly remember that THEIR kids can for the most part start taking care of themselves over time…

Meanwhile the crazy puppy/cat lady will still be scooping poop 10-15 years later…

Um, it’ll grow back Mrs. Baird. It’s not like they cut off his leg. Back slowly away, kids.

Too bad she didn’t get a whiff of his lingering “old skunk spray smell left over from vacation” perfume.

How come we can always see the sheepdog’s eyes in these strips? I’ve never seen the eyes on any sheepdogs I have met without moving all the fur in front of them first. (how do they SEE through that, anyways?)

ribbie149: Isn’t that what you’re doing??? Isn’t being here, reading the comic, reading all the comments about the comic and then blogging here about them (the comments) the same thing??? Just wondering.

Meanwhile, love your dog, treat it well and it’ll love you unconditionally forever! With kids … not so much sometimes!!!

I don’t think ribbie meant the blogging in and of itself; I think he meant the gravitas of the comments. That’s why I read them, and shake my head in wonder.

Reminds me of a body shop manager’s comment:

A man came in with his car after a fender-bender. When he asked for an estimate, he said: “The repair has to be perfect. This is my baby.”

The shop manager didn’t miss a beat. “Sir, ” he said, ” you don’t need me, you need a pediatrician.”

I am rarely offended by a FBofW strip but, as someone who prefers dogs to children, I find the implication that she is weird offensive.

There are rare occasions when shaving dogs is necessary & appropriate, but it is normally bad for them so, not knowing about the skunk, it is natural for her to be horrified.
