Run for your lives! Backmasking is back! I have a copy of the first stanza of Jabberwocky played backwards. It contains, “saw a girl with a weasel in her mouth”. Those told it is there, hear it immediately; those told only there is a secret message, do not hear it at all.

It was written in 1934.In the 50’s when we played that song on our record player, it was the Gene Autry version. The Four Seasons took their version to the top 40 in the 60’s.Can you imagine Frankie Valli’s falsetto sung backwards?

I thought it was “Paul is dead” LOL.

I missed it. Actually never had heard or read much about it. A “fun” or “hot” rumor is a hard thing to squash. I was 14 when that was getting started.

The only secret message I want to read is the one that translates to “You just won $100 million dollars completely tax free!”

I wonder how much it will cost to get it translated?

Does anyone know what the time period is for this strip? I hadn’t realized it wasn’t set in the present – but no kid nowadays would have a turntable.
