Believe it or not I prefer this parody to the song it was based off of. “The Candyman” had to have been a nadir in Sammy Davis Jr.s career (that and his version of “Mr. Bojangles”).
Man, Chef Meowrice spends a ton of money on ads. I just tried reading this one aloud, and it’s at least 35 seconds long, which is an odd length (a long, non-Super Bowl TV ad these days is 30 seconds, and most of those have 15-second edits—think of the Danny Trejo-Brady Bunch Snickers ad). Add in musical flourishes, and this is a 45-second ad!
