I got a gift once about 8 years ago, a 2 inch high fir sprayed completely with pink glitters, after Christmas I noticed a tiny green shoot so I planted it, it is now about 4 feet high on our balcony, my pride & joy! once in a while I see a tiny pink glittery needle!

When I lived in SoCal you could buy 4-7 foot living trees in pots. After Christmas you could donate them to Parks & Rec for a tax credit.
