Can “Being A Dummy For Dummies” be far behind?

That was already written by Charlie McCarthy many years ago; you may remember him as Candice Bergen’s older brother.

NIGHTHAWK You ever notice some of us might intentionally misspell a word, use urban “rap, or “dumb hillbilly” language? Have youse ever dun it? Maybe once or twice to make a point? Of course if a Tea Party member does it, deyse jest dumm. “keep the governmint out of my Social Security” is hilarious. Think it’s stupid? Think again. A certain Roosevelt had to overstock the Supreme Court to ram that Ponzi scheme through Congress. Many still question it’s constitutionality. The Fed has borrowed from that fund time and time again to balance their own deficit’s. Wait, this money was supposed to be independent of the budget, the worker put in money for the worker. You mean if I had bought an S&P Index with that money, I would now have 6-8 times what my boss and myself put in? You mean it is projected that I will get less than I put in. You mean the government made Maddoff look like a piker and will be bankrupt in a few years. Who’s going to jail?

You wonder why someone might misspell a sign on purpose. They paid Social Security in good faith for years and are now told the government had a party and they weren’t invited. The fed expects us not to be able to spell, they sure hope we can’t do math.

I believe “MORAN” belongs to Bugs Bunny.

Lewreader - He may be referring to Jerry Moran, currently a U.S. Representative (1st district) running against Todd Tiahrt (KS 4th District) for Sam Brownback’s Senate seat. (Brownback is running for KS Governor.) Moran & Tiahrt both claim to be conservative, so they’re having a extremely heated campaign right now, with the polls showing them within a few points of each other. Tiahrt has been endorsed by the Tea Party Express, JC Watts, Tom Tancredo, Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin, Steve Forbes, Dr. Dobson, John Ashcroft, Jim Inhofe, Mark Levin, Karl Rove & many other conservatives. Moran has been endorsed by Tom Coburn, Jim DeMint, John Thune, Jeff Flake, Jim Talent, Mike Johanns, & Richard Burr. Just last week, Tom Tancredo switched from endorsing Moran to endorsing Tiahrt instead, because he said Moran lied to him & had voted against one bill that Tancredo had introduced.

I was going to write a book called Sex For Complete Idiots. THe entire text was the following:

“If you were enough of an idiot to have bought this book, don’t have sex. You’re too stupid to deserve descendants.”

There used to be a restaurant in New Orleans called Moran’s Riverside. I ate there once in 1980. I had the escargot appetizer and scallops as my main dish. That was before I developed G.E.R.D. I can’t eat escargot now. I think the restaurant is closed.

I bought The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Hawaii before a trip there several years ago. I don’t remember what I ate, but I don’t think it was scallops. I think Hawaii is closed now too.

    Ah. Good times.

When I was a small child (mid ’30s) I remember going to the “Old Age Home” which also went by the name “Poor Farm” to deliver baskets of goodies sent from church. Social Security came out of those days. If the system has its problems as Lewreader states, it could very well be the fault of later administrations that raided the funds. I don’t know when that started so don’t know who to blame, but the original idea was a worthy one.
