^^ Then why would they be upset that Obama changed the charitable giving law so that the amount one can put on their tax return is the same as a poorer person would, per dollar donated (e.g. the return per dollar of $250 is now the same as the return per dollar of $250,000)? After all… it’s charity… .
^ What support can you provide for that “well known fact”?

If changing the deduction for charitable contributions results in a drop in the contributions themselves, then you’re not talking about the Virtue of Charity at all, you’re talking about Tax Planning.
Donate $10,000 to a charity, and knock $20,000 off your tax bite. Yep, that pretty much defines self-sacrifice, doesn’t it?
(Obviously, I’m not endorsing the abolition of deductions for charity, because whatever the donor’s motive it gets the money out there. But let’s call it what it is…)
If he had used the phrase “As any fool can plainly see…” I wouldn’t have challenged him on it.
Jesus wouldn’t approve of claiming deductions for charitable contributions anyway. “Let not your left hand know what your right is doing” and all that…
I’m not shedding a tear for the billionaire; I’m revulsed by the behaviour of the Lib. They obviously have no respect or ability to objectively get a handle on their motives or values; they (their values) are disgusting.
FREEDOM, people; what is it and how do we keep it? Do we keep our freedom by putting a tax on any thing and event we can come up with? Do we make further laws that arrogate our inalienable rights to the government?!!! When and where does it stop?

Not only Jesus, but Mohammed wouldn’t approve of it, either. So there.
