Bronx cheer known all over the world.. sometimes by another local name..

One has to wonder whether the Crustwood Idiot Crew actually believe any of the misinformation they “teach” Timmy…

or do they knowingly make it up on the spot because the three word phrase they can’t pronounce is “I don’t know.”

A Bronx cheer is also known as a “raspberry.”

I never knew why till a Londoner explained it to me some years ago.

He was teaching me a few bits of rhyming slang, and he said “There’s one you use, and you don’t even know it.”

 

Rhyming slang was originally a sort of code….

to hide what you mean from outsiders, you traditionally drop the rhyming part when you use it.

lE “Butcher’s hook” means “look” …. but you say “I’ll just have a butcher’s.”

 

“Raspberry” is from “raspberry tart.”

When you give a Bronx cheer, or blow a raspberry…

you stick out your tongue and make a rude sound , to imitate something that rhymes with “tart.”

 

Meanwhile… why does Dale’s shirt say “Wipee!”?

Is that Julie’s spelling of “Yippee!?” Or “Whoopee!” as in “Whoopee cushion” ?
