Patty has grown up to be a lovely person. But then she has excellent parents as role models.

tough call…take your boss’ advice and take vacation day and get paid, or call in sick and don’t get paid…this is a no-brainer…she’s going to call in sick

If I call in they use one of my vacation days weather I want it or not. Have to use them before Jan. 1st and can’t roll them over. Although the personal days we can.

I must say, Joy nailed it this time with the To-Do list. If she’s initiating theme music for the family, she’s picked just the right number, if the calliope music is Merry-Go-Round Broken Down.

I knew a woman that worked for a company that paid employees for their sick leave if they didn’t use any for a certain period. Everyone would use Vacation when they were sick.

First of all never tell your boss about your health. Just call in sick the day of the appointment, they can’t ask questions about your health. Of course this assumes she has health benefits and allotted sick days.

When I retired after 33 years from working for a major university I had 2,200 hours of accumulated sick leave and got nothing for it.

My current employer lumps vacation, holidays and sick days into one pot called PAL (paid annual leave). So, doesn’t matter what it’s the same paid day off. At least is as long as you have time. Once you run out it’s unpaid even if it’s a holiday and the office is closed.
