This one is on you, Susie; you shouldn’t have been passing notes in class, especially to bait Calvin.

That was funnier back then when people didn’t really believe kids that little were supposed to be preparing for college already, like a lot of people think now.

I have been thinking about this arc… and it occurred to me that, from the teacher’s point of view, Calvin didn’t actually do anything wrong. He just alerted her to Susie’s misbehavior. So why are both of them being sent to the principal’s office?

I believe I said it before, some day Calvin will be President and Susie will be an intern…

…at The George Washington University Hospital

    Now, what were you thinking?

In a way, It’s Susie’s fault for passing notes in the first place! Then Calvin wouldn’t have had to squeal on her.

My kids learned quickly when to tell(if someone was in danger) and not(tattling to get the other kid in trouble). The tattler got spanked. If someone was in danger, usually no one got IT. I can’t abide snitches(anyone who tells for profit, gain or revenge.

To those objecting to LX’s comments, I think she is talking about being in trouble (especially a girl), tying that in with Mary having Jesus even though she knew how hard that would be, and Mary’s now helping those in trouble by advocating for them with Jesus. If you’re not religious, that’s perfectly fine. But there does not necessarily have to be connection (or one that you can see) between a comment and the comic, and as long as the person is not attacking other commenters or the cartoonist, I fail to see why it should bother anybody.

Perfect depiction of a little kid’s perception of their “permanent academic record.”

Hey folks, back off on LX013 — she’s good people (unlike some of the rest of us). Interesting to hear an Austrian (?) perspective, too. Her English has improved quite a bit over time as well.

Geez. There are some nasty people on here. Words cannot describe how much of a disgrace you are. If I don’t approve of anything, I simply scroll past the comment and not make such a stupid fuss. Personally, I love LX013’s comments and religious or not, I often find them a great comfort.

If she chooses to find comfort in superstitious nonsense, that’s her business. If I choose to stop reading her post after 7 or 8 words, that’s my business.

Susie, all disciplinary action goes into your “permanent file”. Funny, we don’t hear of it now when we actually DO have a permanent, electronic file that follows us everywhere. Right, NSA?
