Petey: Wow! There've been some real advances in Little Neuro scholarship! Petey: Experts have traces Little Neuro back to a Flemish manuscript from the early 1500's featuring a character named Petit Neureaux. Petey: He's such a bump on a log that he stays in bed and misses the whole Renaissance, prototypical Little Neuro behavior! Petey: How about that! Isn't this book great? Alice: Yeah! It's great! Alice: I can't hear a word you say, when you're on the other side of it. Petey: I tell you, we live in the Golden Age of comic strip scholarship!

Petey has uttered profound truth! Too bad Alice can’t hear him (what with herself being a cartoon character and all…).

Blaise Pascal was a Petit Neureaux fan as evidenced by the following comment.“All of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone.” —Blaise Pascal
