Actually, Bill Watterson was “projecting” his adolescent memories onto Calvin. No 6-year-old boy falls in love or even has romantic thoughts about girls. Thank God, humans (more obviously boys) — until puberty arrives, and they begin to be able to cope with marriage and parenthood — have a hormonally/genetically enforced “latency period,” during which they are interested in many other (i.e., non-romantic) pursuits in life, even experiencing something like a loathing for the opposite sex.

People have different definitions of Love but after reading this, I don’t want to hear anybody else’s.

Read comics on three sites; visit GoComics & 19 strips here last, saving Calvin & Hobbes, Pooch Cafe for last. So long since I read this one it was new again; laughed so hard I hurt. Best strip Ever.Everyone make it a great day.
