Dreamed of getting away from it all: 6 months. Prepared to get away from it all: 6 weeks. Travelled to get away from it all: 6 hours. Re-created it all in the hotel room: 6 minutes. Irving: I set up the room voice mail, plugged in our iPod speakers, cleared a space for both laptops and logged onto the hotel's wireless!

This is why I opted to go camping this year (although we are bringing the laptops but without a power source will be minimally used. Did you know 90% of campgrounds I have checked out have wifi?)

This is why it is better to just stay at home and make a pact to turn off the TV and the Internet Router for two weeks…

My mom used to say that it was no vacation for her if we just moved the house from one place to another. She preferred that we go on day trips and eat out so she didn’t have to cook. My idea of roughing it is staying in a hotel that doesn’t have a restaurant.

fly in fishing camp too far out for cell phones. Limited power and only when the sun is out.THAT is a get away, and we love doing it!

When I was aged 12-20, every year we’d go to Lake Powell, UT and spend a week with another family on a houseboat, waterskiing, playing cards, reading and relaxing. It was before cell phones were popular, but it didn’t matter. No phone access. No TV access. Just the music we brought in and, if we were really lucky and in the right place, marina radio to listen to.
It was something. None of us was ever bored. I would pay serious money to go there now with my family, but we are too far away. The trick is, you NEED the canyon walls. Without them, you might get reception for a cell phone or something. With them, you are free from it all. It was gorgeous, too.

The airlines are finally giving free wifi. Dang and I paid $30 to check my laptop.
Is your computer too old when wifi lights up spellcheck?

Wow, instant disaster. Time to grab your muu-muu, Cathy, and find the hotel bar.

I’m just wondering, since they didn’t have any checked baggage, where they packed all that stuff!
WebSpider over 14 years ago
Agreed, Gypsy214.
I thought they had one checked bag between the two of them. But I also see a second large case on the floor there in the last panel in addition to the open suitcase on the bed.
Cathy G. must be ignoring the laws of physics and continuity… AGAIN.
And Irving, why would you need to set-up voice-mail? Who is going to call you two?

How many minutes till the divorce?
Or Irving’s funeral?
