The actor playing Oswald started out as child cartoon character, playing the third incarnation of Lil Pepe. He went on to a very successful career, highlights being playing Joey in “Dennis the Menace” and most famously playing Gallant in the popular “Goofus and Gallant” feature. Unfortunately, he had a rough patch after that, mostly playing background characters in various New Yorker cartoons until Scully picked him back up.
