FishStix, I’m with you. The noise level these days make it almost painful in many restaurants and shops. I’ve been to the PF Chang in Ontario, CA. Noise level wasn’t bad, food was wonderful.

Da da da da…..da da da!………..da da da da DA da da da da da …….da da da da ……da da da …….DA da DA da ….da da da!
How can Earl and Opal eat the supper before they will watch the Jeopardy game on the TV? They better prepare to make simply supper before they watch the game on the TV.
Actually I’m about the same, except the game show I plan around is Wheel of Fortune, as I’m a Wheel Watcher and there’s no telling when my spin id will be picked! And no, I don’t have DVR so I can’t record it!
I ask SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED to dinner and a show and she looks at the TV mag. “no, there’s a new CSI on” TV over live theater? Good dining in a nice restaurant? Perhaps drinks at the blues bar? Nope, TV never asks you to think and everything is solved in an hour. I’m going to the museum now.
We like going to a Mexican restaurant. Much of the time there is no music. If there is, it is Mexican-type, and fairly low volume. It can get noisy though, due to the customers. All wood floor, glass block or stone walls don’t absorb sounds well. Sometimes the noise comes from kids, sometimes it appears to be tipsy customers - usually females.
Restaurants: My Dad and I have always suggested that they should have a “KIDS” section and a “NO KIDS” section like they used to have for smoking…it is not fun to try and have a nice dinner as a treat and listen to bratty kids and an parent that doesn’t care.
If a little rock and rock can drown out the coversation and the bratty kids at the next table then I’m all for it. The louder the better. Unless you’ve got the money to spend on one of the finer resteraunts where you can hardly hear a pin drop.

We are so old that we stay home and watch Jeopardy and make bets as to whose legs are going to sleep first.
