It takes about 4,360,000 steps to complete the Appalachian Trail. The first successful division of adult conjoined twins was the 1936 separation of Lucio and Simplicio Godina. In 1961, Matisse's painting Le Bateau hung upside down in New York's Museum of Modern Art for 47 days before anyone noticed!

It took roughly 1½ months to an incorrectly hung painting that long? (Happy 80th anniversary of the separation, Misters Godina.)

I recently saw a photograph by some famous photographer with a price tag of $3,000. It is a sepia toned photo of a horse taken through a hogwire fence, with T posts, so it’s not old. It’s labeled “Horse”, I guess so you will know what it is. The guy needs a new camera as his old one makes everything real blurry.

Actually, the Dos Equis™ guy -The Most Interesting Man in the World – noticed it. There’s a video of him reversing it!

How can you be sure of that? Have you ever met any of us?

So the Filipino conjoined twins died two weeks apart, one from rheumatic fever, the other from spinal meningitis; sounds like the surgeons were not at fault at all. They only lived to the age of 28, but Simplicio certainly was relieved to get physically separated from a CORPSE in November 1936.

The number of steps it takes to complete the Appalachian Trail is a matter of stride!
