When I designed our house, I put a long shelf in there. I hang shirts, and pants over a hanger below, and there are boxes above. (One for each family member.) For some of us, that IS our closet. (I even moved a chest of drawers in there for me.) We either dress in there, or grab our clothes to dress in the bathroom. Works great except for bedding & towels, those tend to pile up on the dryer (I do fold), until I get around to taking those to the appropriate locations.
