Wow, weren’t there rules about reaching a certain score that ends the game early back then. I know when I was a kid in my first year of Little League we only went half the game because we managed to shut out the other team something like 11-0.
This reminds me of a MAD article spoofing Peanuts. “I can’t believe after all these years they still haven’t figured out I’m throwing the games,” Charlie Brown says with a sly grin as a darkened figure stacks money into his glove.
Interestingly enough, on Opening Day 1969 the New York Mets lost to the expansion Montreal Expos, unlike Chuck’s team the Mets did recover to win the World Series that year
There is a huge difference between humiliating the other team and continuously opening the wound and rubbing salt in it. 48-0 is continuously opening the wound and rubbing salt in it.

1969, MLB expands by four teams, Montreal Expos, San Diego Padres, Seattle Pilots and Kansas City Royals. Wonder which one beat Chuck’s team?

Charlie Brown, you need a better pitcher for starters. I am sorry you lost.

How can any team get beaten 48-0 in the first game of the season, by an expansion club?
Apparently he never heard of the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns are indeed awful but as a fan I can testify that their forte is losing on the last play of the game.

What’s worse is they stooped down to CB’s team’s level in doing it.

The Minneapolis Millers were displaced by the Minnesota Twins in 1961; however
The Saint Paul Saints are still thriving in their own new stadium…
