Years ago I had a small 7 pound calico named Micki (3/21/1980 – 9/29/2000). Micki hated it when I would be gone for the evening. She seemed to understand I had to go to work to earn the daily cat food but she expected me back at a certain time. When I would travel out of town she would really get upset. She must have had a sense when I would be back after any overnight stay. She would greet me at the door then proceed to throw up at my feet and stare at me as if to say “See, I was worried sick about you.” She would then ignore me for the next day or two depending on how long I was gone.

Oh yes they do! They just don’t show it the same way. When you first get home they’ll ignore you for about 15-20 minutes. Then they’re all over you.
