Agree with Roy, like too many 70s & 80s flicks that poked fun at geeky and nerdish, McGyver, though worthy of those titles, wasn’t as “Beverly Hilbillies” formula sitcom.
Fortunately, as Brad Stine’s offered about some groups, we can take a joke and can and will laugh at the goofs that fly from scriptwriters, YATI!
The show in which Sheldon becomes self-aware (“I’m annoying, just say it, say it, I’m annoying”) was, for me the episode where the show “Jumped the Shark”. Of course, he had to grow up some time, better late than never.

I really like the show, personally. Good characters and fun gags.
