Certain medications in our bloodstreams attract mosquitoes. Bloodthinners, aspirin, etc. Also, wearing yellow attracts them, I am reliably informed by a biologist.
@wildbill – We really used to do that in Alaska. You could pinch your skin so that they couldn’t pull out, and they would just keep filling up until they exploded. The kids thought it was fun and gross at the same time.

Yuk :/ they’re attracted by our exhale. on a warm night they come out as the sun sets. little vampires :(
