Has Duke ever looked good?

I paid seventeen mil and all I got was this lousy crate.

As the last three frames are from Duke’s point of view, it seems his vision and hearing are finally clearing up. He’s going to be OK, and will soon be back to his accustomed skullduggery.

$17 million worth of crap! So to speak.

Wait, they’ve skipped an episode or two! As I recall, as a final identification, Zonker wanted a description of a tattoo Duke had on his hp or somewhere. The response he got was “That is the vilest, most disgusting -” That nailed it for him. I liked that particular strip.

If you are really a fan you need to start at the very beginning and read every strip, starting with Mike, BD and Zonker in their college days. all the way to the present. Until I moved in 2003 I had no idea just how heavy the entire collection of strips was. And now, 13 years later, its even heavier.When he stopped doing the daily strip, I started rereading every book, and since I lived thru every one of those years(loved how BD and Phred survived being Lost in Vietnam by discovering a cache of beer, since it was hijacked from the US, I think it must have been PBR.(BD being John Wayne and Phred the vile commie VC, That was IMPO one of his better weekly strips) For some reason I also prefer using things to caricature those in power, unlike his present depiction of Trump
