You’ve just described the normal waking state for most Americans.

Yeah, I understand. But if you fall off your chair, you’re officially asleep (until the crash jolts you awake again)!

Salt & vinegar chips are the best! I love the taste, the bite of the salt and the tang of the vinegar. I don’t like Lays though, they’re not strong enough. Best is O’Grady’s, then Willards and Simba chips.

Teresa, Lay’s and Miss Vickie’s are the two brands of S&V chips I like best. I can just feed Lay’s continually into the hopper, while their “classical” chips are mediocre. Miss V makes a great jalapeno chip. I’m thinking of trying some kettle cooked chips. I like the texture, but it might not be right for vinegar. But, if I let opinion rule over actual tasting, I would never have discovered mangoes or black coffee! Try this site for reviews and ideas (ever clean out the bottom of your chip bag by rolling a hard-boiled egg around in it? Yum.): http://saltandvinegarchips.com/

I blinked and opened my eyes in a darkened room two hours after class was over. I have always suspected Martians, but you never know. Frogs? Hmmm?

Now; if we could just figure out how to add a little strike-through to cheap wine, root canals, MSNBC, fat chicks, droughts, mosquitos, American Idol, Cartoonists Who Mock Their Loyal and Humble Fan Base and Spork Abuse, the world would be a better place.

P.S. Wouldn’t “Spork Abuse” be a good name for a grunge band?

Side Topics: 1) I have heard that Canadians like to put vinegar on their French fries. It sounds awful, but when you think of how good S&V potato chips taste, it might be worth a try… 2) A friend gave us a bottle of Caselli (i.e. expensive) balsamic vinegar for Christmas. He suggested we try some on vanilla ice cream. It’s fantastic. Who’da thunk? I wouldn’t go with Heinz, though. We use this stuff only for visits by heads of state or female Fox News reporters. (A visit from Teresa would be worth at least a two-scoop Sundae also, but my wife might not agree.) ;-)

Root canals are our friends. Without root canals we would have smiles with gaps. With the necessary crown to cap it off, it will only cost you about 3 grand. So smile, and have a nice day!

Oh yeah - Salt & Vinegar chips.

We have a special child (young adult, really) at home whose autism can sometimes result in what we like to call “outbursts.” Inspired by a desire to better understand the root causes of Alex’s behavior her mother did an advanced fellowship in neurobiology* and as a result decided to try to remove or reduce glutens from Alex’s diet (which seems to have worked to a certain extent). In the process we discovered Boulder Canyon Natural Foods, a company that makes a lot of gluten free snack products. They also make Malt Vinegar and Sea Salt Potato Chips. They’re pricey, but very good. We get them at Whole Foods.

*I know what you’re thinking (I get it a lot). Because she has poor judgment in men, that’s why.

While you’re pigging on your salt and vinegar chips, you can increase your vast storehouse of useless knowledge by reading the 50 page catalog of the “Neverslip Co.”:

    What? No Sunday  FA?

BTW, try Ballreich’s potato chips (including a salt-and-vinegar variety). They’re at home in Ohio, but have expanded a bit in the region (Michigan, Indiana, even a toe-hold in Illinois).
