parkour is new sports made famous in cities where people hoop over obstacles, barricades, walls and reach destination faster than car, that has to crawl on busy streets.
Brevity also has a gag involving Parkour today. Although i was aware of the sport, having seen something about it on TV, I did not know until today that it had a specific name.
Thanks to those who know what parkour meant. Not in my (small) paperback dictionary. Sounds like the last thing I could attempt!! Or want to. " Kids being stupid"…brevity in action for that explanation!! Hmm…come to think of it, I did do a lot of that when I was 11 or 12!
we use to call it an obstacle course when we were young and we would set it up for jumping, over, around, through, crawling under, over, etc. etc. barns, sheds, fences, haystacks, etc. etc. then the city kids adopted it to what they had. that in turn probably evolved into parkour. when i watch videos on it i know i can’t do it at my age but i sure would like to be 40 years younger and give it a try. i don’t think i would end up with any more (or less) broken bones, skinned knees, bruised elbows or bumps on the head than we did back on our obstacle course on the farm.

Noticed in the last few Bond films a variation of it in the opening scenes.. Craig’s pretty fit.
