i’m afraid that the definition of ‘intelligent’ would play too big a part in the length or brevity of the search. i have personally had the privilege to know some very ‘intelligent’ people in my lifetime. the one problem with them was some had very little ‘common’ sense. and i don’t say that to be disparaging of them. but they honestly couldn’t do simply things like order a pizza or remember to bring their notes without help or having someone else do it. yet they could quote figures, formulas, philosophies, etc. and debate the pros and cons with tremendous insight into that subject. -i worked for a professor/academic dean, way before computers were a part of life, that could sit down and figure out a four year schedule for a student, based on a five year revolving class schedule – in any major/minor – that would allow them to be full time students, graduate in four years – without taking more than one or two ‘extra-curricular’ classes in that four year period – in less than a 30 minute meeting – yet he would sometimes need to be reminded of which medicine to take which day on which his very life depended. -or the music professor that could literally hum or whistle any section of any orchestral music by any instrument ‘s part that he knew and yet often couldn’t remember where he parked his car.

Google is faster than anything. However it’s still trying to determine if there’s intelligent life here.

If we are looking for intelligent life on this planet, why are we including humans?
