    The corporate world started its decline when the Personnel Department turned into Human Resources.

    Though I’ve asked many HR people over the years, not one has ever been able to explain why they changed to that horrid name. I’ve always thought it expressed a disdain for employees that you never saw in the actually useful parts of the business.

    @psearcher: The best I could come up with is that it sounds nicer. Personnel Dept. has a cold sound to it whereas Human Resources sounds scientific and friendly.

    Its all a bunch of the ssdd to me!

    Awww … I sort of like her — or at least sympathize — I think she sees the absurdity and just tries to get through the day as best she can … not her fault she’s constrained to some often senseless rules …
