I’ve never heard “don’t take any wooden nickels.” What does it mean?
It’s interesting to note the development of Charlie Brown’s character design — compare him in this strip to the Peanuts Begins thumbnail and he’s clearly changed already: Particularly the eyes have drawn closer together and become larger.
According to the Wiktionary, “don’t take any wooden nickels" means “Do not permit yourself be cheated or duped; do not be naive.”
