Sadly, Violet was right all along. Someday, you will start to wonder what happened to your teeth. Well, in some cases, they were dissolved by Coca-cola.

Nothing like shattering a child’s pleasure and illusion. In my case, I stopped believing in Santa Clause too early in life. It would have been nice to have that illusion for a little while longer. It’s great to believe while you can.

Be true to your teeth or they will be false to you.

I think it was the “plink” sound effects in the 3rd panel that put CB over the edge…

There was a spoof of this in “A Mad Look At Old Movies.” In “Little Miss Wishy Washy,” the title character’s mom offers her cookies. The dialogue goes like this. “How about some nice cookies I just baked?” “I really would love some, but you’d better give my share to the Girl Scouts to sell.” “But Wishy, what about your friend the dentist?” “You’re right, Mom. No sweets, no cavities, no business for Dr. Goldcap. I’d better have a dozen.”

He’s going to lose his teeth over the next couple of years regardless, so I say, go for it!

it needs one more panel where she is eating the candy!

She could be a dentist.

She tricked Charlie into leaving his candy behind…with her. Clever girl.

Note the landscape background in first two frames, including a country fence, and CB sitting on a board (?) But when it comes to the punch, the background is minimal.

Just sittin’ on a board, eating penny candy, minding my own business when SHE wanders by….

That’s one way to get all the candy for yourself.

You can eat what you want as long as you brush your teeth when you are done.

Grab the bag of candy Violet, before it spills…
