In our neighbourhood it was, “You go down there and be the neighbour and we’ll come visit you.” Then the older kids would ignore the little ones and get on with the game they really wanted to play—which didn’t include them.
I saw a cartoon once with some people playing Dungeons and Dragons, with the other half of the cartoon showing wizards and dwarfs and elves and things playing “Lawyers and Accountants.” Ya just gotta get yourself out of the same ol’ same ol’!
