For some reason, the early books – for example, http://tinyurl.com/jfdoaxa – culled most of the strips that make it quite clear why nobody likes Charlie Brown. These are the books that I grew up with in the 50s; Peanuts Begins makes the saga a lot more coherent. I have much less sympathy for him now.
