Bid? So they’ve dropped Go Fish and are playing….. What is that? Bridge? Rummy? Do you even bid in Bridge? Or Canasta? Certainly ain’t any form of Poker I’ve heard of or played (which doesn’t mean it ain’t any form of Poker, just not Five Card Stud, Seven Card Stud, or Texas Hold ’em) since it looks like both have 26 cards. Well, maybe not 26 but way too many for the forms of Poker I know.
Yes, probably bridge. A day or two ago you could count the number of cards they were holding and it was 13, which would be right for bridge. There have to be two other players that we can’t see, though. This bid of Charlie Brown’s would have to be later in the bidding process, however, since it wouldn’t matter how good a hand another player had with an opening bid.
My parents had a bridge club. My sisters + I loved Bridge Night, because we’d have a sleepover in the upstairs bedroom (where we wouldn’t disturb the grownups), with a tray of snacks + soda.

It could be two player Pinochle! Bidding. The chance to pass. It’s a shame that Pinochle seems to be disappearing.

Could be hearts or spades… precursors to bridge. I spent many an hour playing spades. You usually need at least 3 for a bidding type game though.
