The one mouse is ready to protect every one with her sword – which brings up the question, is the pin mightier than the sword?

Who is that strange female, anyway?
RH3 over 8 years ago
My wife’s silk dresses still bear the marks of kitten claws from climbing practice.

@Robin, that is Tabitha, one of the upstairs ‘Gatos de Noticias’ cats. She is very alpha and kind of scares Elvis. The only cat to have caught the red dot. If you read the halloween special she was the one the ‘ceiling woman’ was holding that was all puffed up because she could sense a female.

Tabitha likes Bea, which is a good thing because Tabitha is a legend for having caught the red dot. Love her pearls and tasteful anchor woman outfit! Also love the robber mice ( the little scamps) adding their scores to the climb. And Elvis, dear horrified Elvis, and his incomparable look of terror, when Bea Slaps! Tabitha!

I LOVE little Bea’s catcher-mitt paws.

The look on Elvis; face is awesome! Shock and amazement, but kittens do always go after grown cats. But is it bravado or just too much self confidence?Gott love the kitten And the Mice Too.

Elvis may shortly become jealous of Tabitha if she becomes Bea’s new best friend.
I have to love this strip. It’s funny, sweet, has a storyline….Best strip on here.

Of all of Elvis’ outrageous expressions in the past, this has to be the all-time topper. I think Beatrix’s paws are helpful, but she also has the advantage of weighing less (for the time being).

Puck’s “I prefer the journey over the race” is a reflection over his personal experience of survival. Thanks Georgia!

I love Tabitha and Bea’s pose in the final panel. Too funny!

Poor Elvis! I think he’s taking the kitten’s youthful gaffe personally.

Although….given the change in Tabitha’s expression before and after slap, Bea may have hit (no pun intended) the right note with her.

I love how everyone, including the mice, are ready to protect Bea from the Wrath of Tabitha. And I love even more how she recognizes a kindred spirit and isn’t angry. She must have been just like Bea once. And I love this strip for allowing Beatrix to emerge with a real personality. Considering how she was introduced as a lost kitten in danger, a lesser writer would have kept her cute and pathetic. This is Georgia’s genius. Everyone is a fully developed character!Incidentally, for any who don’t visit the website, her book of Breaking Cat News just came out on May 10th.
