That first panel reminds me very strongly of that scene in “The Emperor’s New Groove” where Yzma imagines how to dispose of Kuzco – namely, by transforming him into a beetle, putting that beetle into a box, that box into another box, “and then I’ll mail that box to myself. And when it arrives – I’LL SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER!” In that scene she looks down at the box in exactly the same way like Janis is doing here. :)

Their strawberries are early

But jokes ARE the basis of the family fortune!

And a berry big fortune at that.

The farmers here on the CA Central Coast have been selling their strawberries at their stands for almost a month, and they are the largest, most delicious things ever – and they are not even hollow! My lips are red.

Arlo usually isn’t that cynical….I’d be excited as hell…

The news had an article about how they are breeding strawberries now to last longer and transport easier but they don’t have as much flavor. Heresy.

I tried to put some in my garden, but I think I berried them wrong.
