Right now when the dandelions are just starting to grow you can dig them up, cook ‘em and eat ’em.But you can’t eat ’em after they start to blossom. Bitter yuk.\\//_

I love dandelions in my yard. I have two types, one a smaller type that is in bloom year ’round and then the larger ones in the spring. I would dig up the grass to allow my dandelions and clover to thrive.

My grandfather made dandelion wine. In this part of Pennsyvania we make dandelion greens salad, and top it with hot bacon dressing. Germans waste nothing!
