This reminds me of the current controversy over a car ad featuring an invisible monkey. I think it’s for Subaru. The original ad had a chimp dressed as Elvis push a plunger that blasted a confetti cannon all over the cars in the lot.

But PETA objected to this degrading use of a sensitive animal, blah blah, so the commercial was modified to take out the image of the chimp but leave the empty suit.

Without that background the whole ad is surreal and a tad creepy, but I love seeing those human-haters at PETA lose one.

Does it say ” Eat at Joe’s diner ” on the back…

psc, it’s a Dodge commercial, and I thought it was funny with the monkey, but even funnier now with the monkey suit sans monkey. And of course, there’s this issue of PETA. The monkey had a job, in this terrible economy, and PETA lost the job for him. How ironic.

Heck, I’d buy a Dodge just to make those PETA people mad…

Vegas, I’ll bet my Dodge will go farther on a tank of gas than yours, but it won’t get there as fast.
